Dating back to the beginnings of this industry, extensive experience of the shareholders and long history of their cooperation allow ESSEVO set ambitious objectives for the future.

The company is based on close cooperation of scientists with extensive experience in the sector of electronic goods as well as qualified and professional managers. Detailed descriptions of our shareholders are available in the TEAM tab.

When ESSEVO’s future co-owners met in 2007 in connection with a project of the Poland of the Youth Association (Stowarzyszenie Polska Młodych) „Internet voting in Poland”, pursuant to the opinion issued by Professor Mirosław Kutyłowski, the status of research did not allow conducting secure and reliable internet elections at that time.

In September 2007, Rafał Flis became a Laureate of the Lesław A. Paga Scholarship for the project entitled “Internet voting in Poland”. The Scholarship provided required funds allowing future co-owners of ESSEVO begin works on the prototype of an e-voting system meeting most stringent requirements.

Towards the end of 2008, the works resulted in development of the prototype of an e-voting system meeting all security standards. Using this system, first verifiable internet election in the world was conducted in May 2009 (with the participation of 6.5 thousand internet users), proving the existence of sufficiently secure technology allowing e-voting in general elections.

The first real internet elections took place in autumn 2009 – using the developed system, students of one of Warsaw’s universities elected their representatives to the students’ self-government. The election was conducted under the patronage of the Ministry of Interior and Administration.

Also in that year, Filip Zagórski Ph.D. acted as official auditor of the first verifiable internet elections in the world, held at Takoma Park, MD, USA. The election used the Scantegrity system developed by David Chaum and Ronald L. Rivest.

In May 2010, Professor Mirosław Kutyłowski, Filip Zagórski, Ph.D., Zbigniew Gołębiewski and Rafał Flis established ESSEVO Spółka z ograniczoną odpowiedzialnością (ESSEVO Limited liability company) with the registered office in Warsaw, providing the business sector with an offer of innovative and secure product to be used for voting via the internet.

In June 2010, ESSEVO signed its first contracts for conducting internet elections to works councils for companies of the pharmaceutical sector: Sanofi-Aventis Sp. z o.o. and Zentiva Sp. z o.o.
